How we got here…
I’m Josh. I’m a devoted dad (human and canine), ultrarunner, and a reformed “shoe addict”.
After finishing my 4th 100-Miler - Hellbender 100 in 2025 - I was ready to trash my beat up race shoes (only ~200 miles on them) and buy a new, overpriced pair that I didn’t actually need. Meanwhile, my friends Max and Sam (pictured above) took the time to deep clean their shoes in the Airbnb sink, and they looked like new - despite the beating they’d just been put through.
After years of chasing every flashy new release, I realized my favorite pairs still had plenty of miles on them once the mud was gone.
Those same shoes from Hellbender lasted me hundreds more training miles, and I wore them for the Grindstone 50k and Kodiak 100 later in the year! (Pic proof above)
